10 things Beef Magazine writers have actually said about veganism

Updated: Mar 20, 2019

After following the exploits of Beef Magazine, we've made a list of our ten favorite things they've said about veganism, animal agriculture and the environment.

Prepare to laugh and cry:

1. Veganism is based in faulty studies, poor science and bias.

“Beef has long been a target for environmental, animal rights and vegan activist groups. They come at our industry from every direction, poking holes in our animal care practices, our environmental stewardship and our nutritional beef products.

“For a long time, the media has followed suit, repeating and reprinting the faulty studies, poor science and biased reporting of beef cattle and their role in managing the land and nourishing people.”

Yes because the media is so pro-veganism. Fox News definitely didn’t host a segment where the presenters ate meat when talking about it and Piers Morgan NEVER criticizes veganism on Good Morning Britain. 🤥

2. Veganism will take away people’s freedom of choice.

“I worry that if plant-based becomes ‘the truth’ or ‘the standard,’ our freedom of choice will be taken away.”

Creating new and exciting plant-based products reduces choice apparently.

3. Beef is good for us and good for the planet.

“Beef demand is stronger than ever. Our export markets are incredible. People love our product and are willing to pay for it. It tastes great, and despite the abundance of misinformation out there, it’s good for us and good for the planet, too.”

All of the science is wrong everyone, Beef Magazine has decreed it.

4. Vegan billionaires funded the EAT-Lancet report.

“The 50-page report was funded by vegan billionaires and includes a huge roll-out campaign with launches in 40 cities.”

All these rich people are telling us to stop eating meat. The report is basically just an attack on poor.

5. The EAT-lancet report is lacking in science.

Quote: “These recommendations are elitist and ideological, lacking in science and common sense.”

Scientists: “Here are the facts”

Beef Magazine: “This isn’t even science.”

6. If people eat less meat the world will be overfed and undernourished

“The scary result will be a world that is overfed but undernourished, where people are severely lacking in the nutrients that are only readily available from animal fats and proteins.”

Yes, all of us vegans are dead due to overfeeding and a lack of nourishment.

7. A plant-based diet is one of the most unnatural diets on the planet.

“I was interested to see how the vegan crowd spun the popularity of one of the most unnatural diets on the planet.”

Certainly not as natural as industrial farming and (literally) artificial impregnation.

8. Veganism is pure ideological indoctrination.

“This is pure ideological indoctrination that is based on poor science, popular trends and misinformation about animal welfare and the environment.”

Not at all like decades-long campaigns of advertising and propaganda of animal foods.

9. Experts are irresponsible for not telling people to eat animals.

“It is irresponsible for these experts to ignore the increasingly large evidence about the importance of animal fats and proteins in the diet.”

Why are these experts giving their opinion on things? They should do other expert things like saying what we want them to.

10. We will be failing our children and nursing home residents if we start eating tofu instead of beef.

“If tofu, beans and lentils become the number-one recommendation as the plant-based protein substitutes to beef, then we have not only failed our own industry, but we have failed the children, military, hospital patients and nursing home residents.”

We can’t even add anything funny here. Like what?!
