Australian Prime Minister slams animal rights group following removal of charity status
The Prime Minister of Australia has criticized an animal rights group after they had their charitable status removed.
Aussie Farms lost their charity status after a review by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
The ACNC said revocation of charity status was “reserved for the most serious of cases” but were “unable to comment on specific issues.”
Prime Minister Scott Morrison took to Twitter to welcome the decision and slam Aussie Farms.
“Aussie Farms encouraged the invasion of farmers' homes & properties & the sabotaging of businesses. It's why we introduced new laws to ban that sort of bullying of our farmers.
“There’s nothing charitable about it & I welcome news the group’s charity status has now been revoked.”
Aussie Farms published a map of farms across Australia earlier this year.
