BREAKING: California to ban the sale of new fur by 2023
California‘s governor has just signed into law the banning of new fur sales.
No new fur products will be produced or sold in the state from 2023.
California is the first state in the nation to pass a ban on the sales of fur.
Governor Gavin Newsom took to Twitter following the news.
“I just signed AB44 -- one of the strongest animal rights laws in US History -- making California the first state in the nation to ban new fur sales.
“Also signed a package of important bills that will bring an end to the cruel treatment of many animals across our state.”
The other bill Newsom signed prohibits the trophy hunting of bobcats in the state.
