Edinburgh University students have voted on whether to ban the sale of beef at campus venues.
The Student Council held a vote at a meeting meaning and the decision received 51% support which means it goes to an online ballot.

In a statement they said:
“At last week's Student Council meeting on Thursday January 30th, the motion ‘Cease the sale of all beef products in Students' Association Cafes and Restaurants’ received 51% of votes in favour meaning it will now go to an online ballot in which all students will be able to vote on it.
“Voting in the online ballot will be open from 10:00 on Wednesday February 5th until 10:00 on Friday February 7th.
“The results of the online ballot will be published on this page and on Students' Association social media channels at 12pm on Monday February 10th.”
