Greater Manchester’s last greyhound racing track to be demolished
Britain’s oldest remaining greyhound racing track is to be demolished.
Belle Vue will he turned into houses following campaigns from pro and anti-greyhound racing groups.
Manchester City Council approved plans to demolish Greater Manchester’s last greyhound race site earlier today.
The Facebook page Shut Down Belle Vue Greyhound Race Track in Manchester welcomes the news.
“We did it! Belle Vue is closing down & these fabulous SDBV & Caged campaigners were there to witness the council’s unanimous decision.
“This is a day for everyone to celebrate: if the UK’s oldest & biggest track can shut down, so can any track. Get out there wherever you are & be a voice for the dogs!”
