Malaysia wins World Pastry Cup in vegan-friendly final
Pastry chefs from around the world have taken part in the first ever plant-based World Pasty Cup.
The Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie takes place in France every two years.
This year saw some of the world's best pastry chefs attempt a vegan-friendly challenge.
Malaysia came out top, with Japan and Italy finishing second and third in Lyon.
The website says about the decision to go vegan-friendly:
"True to its leading thread the contest is more than ever attentive to innovations and consumer trends.
"For the first time in the history of the event, the dessert presented on a plate will require the use of specific products highlighting the vegan trend, whereas an imposed theme will be introduced to explore the themes of Nature, Flora and Fauna."
