Nestlé brand Purina exploring insects and invasive fish as pet food
Nestlé brand Purina is apparently exploring the option of using insects and invasive fish species as pet food.
The idea behind the plans is to make pet food more environmentally friendly.
Chris O’Neil, senior brand manager at Nestle Purina. "For us, the question is: how do we make sure we can continue feeding our pets?."
The test was launched in October near Chicago with a Purina-launched start-up called RootLab selling crickets and Asian carp according to Bloomberg.
