Over 250 conservation groups call for U.S. government to strengthen endangered species funding
More than 250 conservation groups have written to the Senate calling for increased funding for endangered species conservation and recovery.
The group includes Earthjustice, NRDC, the Sierra Club and the Humane Society of the United States.
The letter the groups wrote, encourages the Senate to adopt funding levels passed by the U.S. House of Representatives in June.
Stephanie Kurose, an endangered species policy specialist at the Center for Biological Diversity Said:
“America’s most imperiled animals and plants desperately need more help to survive in the face of the global extinction crisis.
“The Senate should approve this modest increase and help get more endangered species on the road to recovery.”
