PLANT-BASED FOOD CERTIFICATION LAUNCHED
The Plant Based Foods Association has launched an official food certification.
A statement on the PBFA website said: "We are proud to announce that we teamed up with NSF International to launch the first and only plant-based food certification.
"Plant-based foods that are eligible to receive our certification include meat, poultry, and seafood alternatives, egg substitutes, and dairy alternatives such as plant-based milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and ice cream.
"This is an exciting step for the fast-growing, innovative plant-based foods industry, and furthers our mission to grow plant-based. We look forward to helping many plant-based brands increase consumer confidence with the use of this new certification."
Food brands like Tofurky and plant-based milk company Oatly have already signed up to the certification
