Protest set to take place against animal testing at Oxford University
Protestors are set to take to Oxford University to protest against animal testing.
The protest will be taking place on Saturday.
The event is organised by World Day for Animals in Laboratories and Speak - the Voice for the Rights of Animals, with people from Animal Aid and the Animal Justic Project taking part.
Speak founder Mel Broughton told The Ecologist:
“Millions of animals are still being experimented on in the name of medical research.
“In the twenty-first century we now have the means and the ability to carry out cutting edge medical research without recourse to animal experimentation.
“Those who think that science is ethically neutral confuse the findings of science, which are, with the activity of science, which is not.”
Vegan actor Peter Egan will also be speaking at the rally on Saturday.
