Sainsbury's vegan alternatives to be placed on meat aisle
British supermarket Sainsbury's has announced it will be selling it's vegan and vegetarian meat options on the same aisle as meat products.
The alternatives will be placed away from the meat products but next to meat, fish and poultry in 20 of it's stores across the UK.
A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s told The i:
"We’re seeing increasing demand for plant-based products, and with the unstoppable rise of ‘flexitarianism’ in the UK, we are exploring further ways to make popular meat-free options more accessible.
"Through this trial, we hope that by placing meat-alternatives within their own dedicated bay in our meat, fish and poultry aisles, our customer’s shopping experience will become even more seamless."
The supermarket recently launched it's Love Your Veg! range featuring Shroomdogs, vegan burgers and ready meals.
