U.K. Nursery adopts plant-based menu with 'the children and planet's future in mind'
A British nursery has introduced a plant-based food menu with the "children and plant's future in mind."
Jigsaw Day Nurseries in Chester, will implement the fully vegan-friendly menu for the children aged between 0-4 years old.
According to the Daily Mirror, they will over a "Shepherdless Pie" along with coconut rice pudding desserts, with cereals served with soy or oat milk.
The nursery is privately owned.
Claire Taylor, founder of the nurseries, said:
"We appreciate that this is a decision that comes with a business risk associated, however we feel passionately that a sustainable path is the one we wish to follow for the benefit of our children's future.
"The food that the children eat within our nurseries not only has an impact on everyone in the setting but also on the health of our planet."
