Vegan Society to send New Zealand PM plant-based cheese hamper
The Vegan Society of Aotearoa is planning to send a plant-based cheese parcel to the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
Jacinda Ardern recently said she couldn't give up meat and dairy as she is “from the Waikato I don't know that I'd be allowed to go home if I became vegan, and I love cheese.”
But now a supply of vegan-friendly cheese is on the way to the PM.
The Vegan Society of Aotearoa say it includes cheeses from Savour, Angel Food, ZENZO, Terra Nut Cheese and Crescent Cashew Nut Cheese.
“We put this package together after the Prime Minister responded to James Cameron's call for farmers to ditch meat and dairy for the sake of the environment.
“We can't do much about the open-mindedness of her family, but we at least wanted to show Jacinda that there is a beautiful range of delicious, locally produced, plant-based cheese available -- without the unpleasant aftertatse of environmental damage and animal suffering.
“The future is vegan!”
