VGN to feed families affected by government shutdown to mark MLK Day
Today is the 31st day of the partial U.S. government shutdown, and it is the holiday commemorating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As most people in our audience are aware, part of VGN’s mission is to confront injustice no matter what form it takes.
In light of that mission, we at VGN are doing our part to keep that legacy alive. To that end, if you or a family member is a government worker or contractor affected by the shutdown, VGN wants to pay for your groceries. In conjunction with hunger relief and animal protection organization A Well-Fed World, VGN will choose a different family each day for the next 30 days, and we will buy your vegan groceries (up to $100).
Please contact VGN via our Facebook page or email in order to get details. We have limited resources, so we may not be able to help everyone. But we can love and protect as many people as we can…one vegan meal at a time.
